The Blacktip Challenge
The Blacktip Challenge is a land-based shark fishing tournament in Florida. We are a conservation based tournament and encourage the release of sharks.
Tag and Release Fishing
The 2009 Blacktip Challenge will be focused on catch, tag, and release fishing. The Blacktip Challenge will be working with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Cooperative Shark Tagging Program (NOAA) in 2009 and will be involved in researching tagging efforts that have never been done before. The Blacktip Challenge will also be working with the International Land-Based Shark Fishing Association (ILSFA). The Blacktip Challenge will be hosting the 2nd Annual tournament in February 2009. There will be an anglers meeting held at Juno Pier at 8:30pm-10:00pm on February 6th. The official time for “lines in” will be at 12:01am on February 7th. All lines will have to come out at 11:59pm on February 13th. The awards ceremony will be on February 14.
